Delete Your Account
My Orderly Home is a personal inventory management application. This page explains how to delete your My Orderly Home account and what happens to your data when you do. If you only want to remove some of your things rather than the whole account, see deleting individual data without deleting your account.
Delete from inside the app
- Open My Orderly Home and go to Settings, then the Data & account card, then Delete Account (the third row, after Export My Data and Logout).
- Confirm the deletion. Your account is marked for deletion straight away and you stay signed in — deliberately, because signing you out would put you outside every screen that can undo it.
Request deletion without the app
If you can no longer access the app, you can request account deletion by email:
Email support@myorderlyhome.com from the email address associated with your My Orderly Home account, with the subject line "Delete My Account". We will verify ownership and process the deletion.
What is deleted
- Your photos and receipts stay in our storage for the whole 30-day grace period and are deleted when it ends — that is what lets a cancelled deletion hand them back to you intact.
- Your account and all associated data (storage areas, containers, items, tags, notes, lending records, shared access, favorites, and notifications) are permanently and irreversibly deleted after a 30-day grace period.
- During the 30-day grace period you can cancel the deletion by tapping Keep my account — on the banner at the top of Settings, or on the subscription screen if that is what the app is showing you. Signing out and back in does not cancel a pending deletion.
What may be retained (anonymized)
After account deletion, we may retain the following anonymized, non-identifiable records for legal and fraud-prevention purposes only:
- Billing archive records — up to 10 years (tax/legal compliance)
- Fraud-prevention records (hashed email and hashed device identifier) — up to 2 years
- Consent log records — up to 6 years
Delete some of your data without deleting your account
You do not have to delete your account to delete what is in it. In My Orderly Home you can remove individual records at any time, and they are removed from our servers too.
- Items — open the item and tap delete. The item's photos and receipts are removed from our storage and from your phone.
- Containers — open the container, go to its settings or options, and tap delete. Every item inside it is deleted as well.
- Storage areas — open the storage area, go to its settings or options, and tap delete. Every container and item inside it is deleted as well.
- Categories and tags — remove them from the relevant management screen.
- Shared access — revoke sharing from the container's sharing settings.
What happens to it: items, containers and storage areas are hidden from the app immediately and permanently purged from our servers within 7 days. Their photos and receipts leave our storage straight away, along with the copies held on your phone.
Your account, your sign-in and your subscription are untouched by any of this, and there is no grace period to wait out. This is not an account deletion.
If you can no longer reach the app, email support@myorderlyhome.com from the email address associated with your My Orderly Home account, with the subject line "Delete My Data" and a description of what you want removed. We will verify ownership and delete it for you.
